Special Investment Facilitation Council has played a pivotal role ever since its establishment in providing a favorable environment to investment and business promotion in the country. Among the most important step taken is the provision of facility for investors in the IT sector to repatriate up to fifty percent of their profits. Similarly, the establishment of the Office of the Investment Ombudsman has provided a platform to investors where they can resolve their issues efficiently and invest with confidence. Appellate Tribunals have also been established in the privatization and telecom sectors so that investors can seek guidance on legal issues related to their investments. Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said the focus of second phase of CPEC is promotion of business to business (B2B) links between Pakistan and China. In a video message ahead of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to China, he said a delegation comprising of one hundred and twenty six Pakistani businessmen is also visiting China. He said there is a big opportunity for us to export the country's products to neighboring China. He said Pakistani business delegation will sign investment and export agreements with their Chinese counterparts during the visit. The Minister for Planning recalled that the first phase of CPEC focused on infrastructure development. He said this also provided two hundred thousand job opportunities to the youth. Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa has reduced the summer vacations of the Supreme Court judges by one month in view of the pending cases. According to the notification, the Chief Justice asked the judges of the top court to take one month as vacation in view of the considerable backlog of the cases pending before the apex court. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today met with Party Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Deputy Party Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee Mr. Meng Fanli in Shenzhen China today. The Prime Minister noted that the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and China were characterized by frequent engagement and dialogue at the leadership level, people-to-people contacts, cultural and educational exchanges. Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency have seized a large consignment of drugs at sea. According to ISPR, in a joint anti-narcotics operation, PMSS Zhob seized a large quantity of narcotics in the North Arabian Sea, worth thousands of dollars in the international market. This is the third major operation of Pakistan Navy against drug smuggling in the last ten days.
