Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has appreciated Google for Education for creating local assembly of Chromebooks in Pakistan. During a meeting with high-level delegation of Google in Islamabad, she said equipping the youth with digital skills for their capacity building is the need of the hour. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan is ready for the new phase of CPEC focused on collaboration in business and industrial sectors. He was talking to Chinese delegation headed by Minister of International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Liu Jianchao in Islamabad. The Prime Minister said early completion and implementation of all ongoing and new projects of CPEC will play an important role in economic growth and overall development of Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Minister Liu Jianchao said China has accorded a special place to Pakistan in its foreign policy and will continue to support Pakistan's economic development. Funeral service of Sepoy Haroon William, resident of Islamabad, was held at Saint Paul's Church, Rawalpindi today. Sepoy William, a devoted Christian soldier, sacrificed his life in the defense of the motherland and embraced martyrdom in Kurram District yesterday while on duty in counter terrorism operations. The funeral ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Defence Minister, Interior Minister, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, senior civil and military officers, soldiers, citizens, and relatives of the martyr. Sepoy Haroon William was laid to rest with full military honors in Rawalpindi. . The Prime Minister praised the contributions and sacrifices of the Christian fraternity, lauding their role in the country's progress. He emphasized that the Armed Forces of Pakistan are a cohesive unit, comprising individuals from diverse backgrounds, striving for the collective defence of the state. Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir honored the sacrifice of Sepoy Haroon William, Sepoy Anosh Rufun, and their comrades, saying that their unity and bravery exemplify the strength of the nation. He reaffirmed that the nation will always be indebted to their services and sacrifices for the honor of the motherland. Funeral prayers of Havaldar Aqeel Ahmed resident of Okara, Lance Naik Muhammad Tafeer resident of Poonch, Sepoy Anosh Rufun resident of Attock, and Sepoy Muhammad Azam Khan resident of Haripur were also held in their respective hometowns with full military honours. Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed condolence and grief over the death of key bearer of Ka'aba Dr. Sheikh Saleh Bin Taha Al-Shaibi. In his condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for high ranks of the deceased and patience for his family. He said Dr. Sheikh Saleh Al-Sheibi had the unique honor of being the key bearer of the Ka'aba and every Muslim is proud of his fate for having such an honor. The Prime Minister said the sequence of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)'s recommendation regarding the Key of Ka'aba continues. Dr Sheikh Saleh Al-Shaibi was the 109th key holder of Ka'aba. The 41-day long Save Gaza sit-in at D-Chowk Islamabad has ended. According to the details, the participants of the Save Gaza campaign announced the end of the sit-in during their meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Talking to participants of the Save Gaza campaign, the Minister said every Pakistani keeps similar feelings for Palestine and we have no objection to any of their demands. He said Pakistan is already playing a full role in this regard and we will also work on the implementation of recommendations made by Save Gaza campaign. Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon met Interior Minister and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad. During the meeting, they discussed various issues including bilateral relations, border security, immigration, illegal human trafficking and drug trafficking. Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a delimitation schedule of Union Councils in Punjab for holding Local Government elections. Administrative measures for training of delimitation committees will be completed by the 30th of this month. The preparation of the preliminary list of constituencies will be held from 1st to 22nd of next month. The preliminary list constituencies after delimitation will be published on 23rd of next month.
