Pakistan Maths and Computer Science Olympiad (PMCSO) will conduct a nationwide competition in September this year to identify and nurture talented students in mathematics and computer science, promoting STEM education and excellence in Pakistan. According Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training PMCSO aims to encourage students to develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a passion for math and computer science. The olympiad will provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, compete with peers, and strive for excellence. "This Olympiad will provide a platform for students across Pakistan to showcase their talents, compete with their peers, and strive for excellence" Nationwide Competition for grades 6-12. The Olympiad will be conducted in two categories: Mathematics and Computer Science. Students will have the opportunity to register and complete assessments online, making participation accessible from anywhere in the country. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says the protection of Pakistani citizens and foreigners in Pakistan is among the top priorities of the state. He was chairing a meeting in Lahore today regarding law and order and security projects in Islamabad. The forum was briefed regarding the current law and order situation in Islamabad and Islamabad Model Jail, Islamabad Safe City, Federal Anti-Terrorism Department and Special Protection Unit. It was also briefed regarding Islamabad National Facility Centers and K-9 unit established for identification and tracking of narcotics and explosives. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said any kind of negligence in maintaining law and order and protecting citizens will not be tolerated. He directed to hold inquiry into delay in completion of Islamabad Model Jail. He said the project of Islamabad Model Jail should be completed as soon as possible keeping in view the requirements of modern times. The Prime Minister directed to construct vocational training institute and hospital in Islamabad Model Prison. He said Chinese experts should be consulted for the formation of Special Protection Unit. He also directed to construct a forensic lab according to modern requirements in the Islamabad Safe City project. The Prime Minister issued instructions to ensure recruitment of manpower on the basis of merit, and provision of technology as per international standards and modern requirements for all security projects in Islamabad. Speaking in the National Assembly, he expressed the determination to make Pakistan a great country by implementing the Azm-e-Istehkam resolve. The Minister further invited the opposition to present a shadow budget with their suggestions and proposals to improve the finance bill.
