A two-day mentorship program for copyright management organizations in the country would commence on Wednesday in Lahore. The mentorship program will be jointly organized by World Intellectual Property Organization in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan, the Japan Copyright Office, and the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan. The program is aimed at enhancing the capacity of copyright management organizations in Pakistan, promoting the protection and utilization of intellectual property rights in the country. It will also bring together local and international experts to share best practices, knowledge, and experiences in copyright management, fostering a robust and sustainable copyright ecosystem in Pakistan. Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has said present government is taking all possible steps to improve the basic infrastructure including the road network, water and sanitation, safety and security for the promotion of country tourism. Talking to a private news channel, he stressed for the promotion of tourists sites in the country to strengthen Pakistan's economy and enhance 'cultural activities' for youngsters. The Governor said the government will continuously focus on niche tourism segments such as business events, Eco-tourism, community-based tourism, medical and wellness, edu-tourism, and experiential travel to bring more tourists in the country. A delegation of Pakistan Business Council led by its Chairman Shabbir Diwan called on Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb at Finance Division today. Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Ali Pervez Malik, Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana also attended the meeting.
