Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain says the country has ample stock of urea fertilizer for Kharif season. Chairing a meeting in Islamabad, Rana Tanveer Hussain said all manufacturing units will operate at full capacity to meet local demand. He said fertilizer companies will implement a uniform pricing mechanism across the country from the next season and emphasized that retail prices should be uniform across the country. The minister further said that provincial governments and companies will monitor Urea prices and dealers to ensure a smooth supply of the commodity to farmers of the country. He said it has been decided to introduce toll free numbers to receive complaints regarding urea price hike. The Minister directed Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority to check value-added urea products of fertilizer companies. Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has said mega development projects have been completed in the first phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and added 8,000 MW of electricity to the national grid. Addressing a policy dialogue organized by the Belt and Road Investment Forum in Islamabad, the Minister said as the world is undergoing significant change, by 2035, Asia would contribute 50 per cent to global GDP. He highlighted CPEC as a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, offering substantial benefits to the country. He underscored the importance of developing links between South Asia, China, Central Asia, and the Middle East, suggesting Pakistan could create North, South, and East connectivity corridors to explore regional trade and investment opportunities. Speaking at the ceremony, Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb described the first phase of CPEC as focused on infrastructure development such as roads, electricity, and ports. The country is making strides in the IT sector due to the efforts of Special Investment Facilitation Council. An agreement has been signed amongst National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation, Allied Australia and Tech Valley for the establishment of a chrome book manufacturing assembly in the country. Speaking at the signing ceremony, CEO Allied Australia Aron Saether Jackson said that five hundred thousand chrome books will be provided to Pakistani students through Google Allied and Tech Valley. He said that now these devices will be manufactured in Pakistan due the state of the art facilities being offered by NRTC.
