Pakistan advocates right of Palestinians to establish independent, viable state within borders of pre-1967

At the United Nations, Pakistan has advocated the right of Palestinians to establish an independent and viable state within the borders of pre-1967, with Al-Aqsa as its capital.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York Munir Akram during General Assembly’s Fourth Committee meeting said first and foremost a ceasefire is required in Gaza.

He said despite the UN General Assembly’s overwhelming call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire, Israel is continuing its brutal air strikes and ground invasion in Gaza.

Ambassador Akram said war crimes and crimes against humanity are being committed by Israel with complete impunity.

He said nine thousand Palestinians have been mercilessly killed in Gaza, and 22000 are injured, mostly women and children.

Munir Akram said Pakistan will continue to provide supplies to besieged Palestinians through Egypt.
