Budapest: Pakistan and Hungary have reached a significant agreement to establish a hotline aimed at resolving illegal immigration and other bilateral issues. This decision was made during a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Hungary’s Interior Minister Sàndor Pintèr in Budapest.

According to Radio Pakistan, the hotline will be set up between the interior ministries of both countries as a measure to enhance cooperation on mutual concerns. The meeting also saw discussions on various areas of mutual interest and cooperation. Minister Naqvi expressed gratitude to his Hungarian counterpart for the warm hospitality and the excellent arrangements for the 7th Ministerial Conference of the Budapest Process.

In addition to the hotline, both parties agreed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Hungary in a grand manner next year. Minister Naqvi extended an invitation, on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to the Hungarian Prime Minister to vis
it Pakistan in 2025 on this significant occasion. He also invited his Hungarian counterpart to visit Pakistan, an invitation that was accepted.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the agreement for a high-level Hungarian delegation to visit Pakistan. This delegation aims to address illegal immigration and promote legal immigration. The delegation will also provide assistance in fields such as illegal immigration and human trafficking. Following the delegation’s visit, the Hungarian Interior Minister will travel to Pakistan to finalize the cooperation efforts.

Moreover, the Hungarian Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit Pakistan next month as part of the continued diplomatic engagement. Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of strong ties with Hungary and the necessity of exchanging delegations to promote bilateral relations.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Hungary, Asif Hussain Memon, along with other senior diplomatic officials, were present during the meeting.
