BAKU: Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination and the Global Green Growth Initiative (GGGI) have entered into a four-year Country Programme Framework agreement. This agreement aims to advance Pakistan’s sustainable development goals through specific climate actions and green growth initiatives. The signing took place during a formal ceremony at the Pakistan Pavilion at the UN-led Global Climate Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the agreement was signed by Aisha Humera Moriani, Secretary of the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Ministry, and Helena McLeod, Deputy Director-General of the Global Green Growth Institute. Helena McLeod highlighted the primary objectives of the country programme framework, which include facilitating Pakistan’s transition to a green economy.
