President and Prime Minister Pledge Enhanced Health Facilities to Combat Diabetes.


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed the government’s firm commitment to addressing the rising challenge of diabetes by enhancing health facilities nationwide. In separate messages on World Diabetes Day, they emphasized the importance of controlling the disease and ensuring healthcare accessibility for all citizens.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari highlighted that diabetes can be managed and even prevented through proactive measures. He stressed the need to strengthen Pakistan’s healthcare infrastructure to provide affordable and effective diabetes care to everyone.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the launch of the “Prime Minister’s Program for Prevention and Control of Diabetes Mellitus” at the federal level. The program aims to control diabetes in federal areas and improve healthcare capacities across all provinces. He expressed concern over the alarming rate of diabetes in Pakistan, noting that approximately thirty-three mi
llion citizens are currently affected by the disease.
