Govt Departments Continuing Action Against Power Pilferage.

Lahore: Relevant government departments are continuing their action against power pilferage. Since September last year, more than one hundred and thirty-three billion rupees have been recovered and over eighty-seven thousand electricity thieves arrested from across the country.

According to Radio Pakistan, these efforts are part of a comprehensive crackdown aimed at curbing electricity theft, which has been a significant issue affecting the power sector. The authorities have intensified their operations to identify and penalize those involved in illegal activities related to power consumption.

The substantial recovery of funds demonstrates the effectiveness of the measures put in place. The initiative not only aims to retrieve lost revenue but also to deter future instances of power theft. The government departments involved are employing various strategies, including increased surveillance and the deployment of advanced technology, to monitor power grids and detect irregularities.

These actions reflect a
broader commitment to improving the efficiency and reliability of the power supply system, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and that legitimate consumers are not burdened by the costs of theft. The continued efforts are expected to further reduce incidents of power pilferage and enhance the financial health of the power sector.
