Riyadh: Pakistan and France have come to a significant understanding to bolster cooperation across several key sectors, including agriculture, livestock, Information Technology, skills development, and clean drinking water. This agreement was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the One Water Summit in Riyadh.
According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders expressed their mutual desire to remain closely engaged on regional and global issues of mutual interest. They also discussed the positive trajectory of the Pakistan-France relationship, covering political, economic, trade, and investment aspects, as well as cooperation at multilateral forums such as the United Nations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of strengthening economic and trade ties between the two nations and encouraged France to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in climate adaptation and renewable energy sectors. He com
mended France’s leadership on climate change and development issues and expressed gratitude for President Macron’s advocacy for Pakistan following the devastating floods of 2022.
Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif congratulated President Macron on the successful co-hosting of the One Water Summit, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration between the two countries.
