Govt Determined to Build 500,000 Houses in Five Years: Punjab CM


Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that the Punjab government is determined to construct 500,000 houses in the next five years for deserving individuals. She emphasized this commitment during a special meeting in Lahore, where she reviewed the three Marla free plot scheme, highlighting the government’s focus on providing shelter to the homeless population of the province.



According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting included a briefing from the Director General of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency. It was reported that over 9,600 houses are nearing completion across the province under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ program. This initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to address housing needs and ensure that more people have access to secure living conditions.
