Sindh Government Launches Solar Home Systems Distribution to Aid Low-Income Families

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced that the provincial government has initiated the distribution of Solar Home Systems (SHS) to two hundred thousand low-income households. This move is part of a broader strategy to provide affordable and sustainable electricity to families who are still recovering from the devastating floods of 2022.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the Solar Home Systems distribution ceremony held in Karachi, Chief Minister Shah emphasized that the Sindh Solar project represents a significant step towards achieving energy independence for the province. The initiative is not only aimed at offering immediate relief to affected families but also at fostering long-term energy sustainability.

The Sindh government has set an ambitious timeline for the project, aiming to complete the distribution of all 200,000 SHS kits by July 2025. To meet this deadline, the government plans to distribute 400 kits per district each week, ensuring that the benefits of solar energy reach a wide segment of the population as quickly as possible.
