Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has affirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and emphasized their right to self-determination. In a meeting with a delegation of local government representatives from various regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gillani paid homage to the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gillani underscored the necessity of a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute in alignment with United Nations resolutions. He urged India to relinquish its rigid stance and acknowledge the legitimate rights of the Kashmiri people.

Gillani also appealed to the international community to be vigilant of the ongoing situation in IIOJK. He stressed the importance of taking concrete actions to safeguard the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri population.
