Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has assured its full support for the Reko-Diq Project, highlighting its national significance.
According to Radio Pakistan, the ECC expressed its commitment during a meeting held in Islamabad, which was virtually chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb from China, where he is participating in the Boao Forum for Asia 2025.
The ECC approved a summary presented by the Petroleum Division concerning the Reko-Diq Project. This included changes to the overall development plan and related financial commitments. The revisions are due to inflation and an expanded scope of the project, which now considers capacity, energy mix, alternative water supply options, and updated processing plants and machinery.
Additionally, the ECC sanctioned a technical supplementary grant totaling 200 million rupees for the construction of the Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Centre in Skardu.
