Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Ameer Bhatti will hear today a petition filed by newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz about his oath-taking issue.
Hamza Shehbaz has submitted that the LHC has expressed expectation that the President would appoint another person to administer oath of Chief Minister’s office to him.
However, he submitted that the court orders have not been implemented, while pleading with the court to issue directions for implementation of its orders.
Meanwhile, the letter addressed to President Dr Arif Alvi by Governor Punjab on April 23, explaining constitutional reasons for not administering oath of the elected Chief Minister of Punjab, has been sent to Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
According to President House, earlier, the Lahore High Court order on April 22, in the Writ Petition had also been sent to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat on the same day for necessary process as per Constitution and law.
