WHO seeks $2.54b to counter health emergencies like Pakistan’s floods

World Health Organization has launched a funding appeal for 2.54 billion dollars this year to help people worldwide facing health emergencies, such as climate-induced floods in Pakistan.

The Geneva-based UN agency in its appeal said, around 339 million people need humanitarian assistance globally.

The WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged donors to be generous and help the agency to save lives, prevent spread of diseases and support communities as they rebuild.
