The AJK government has decided to provide one-time free-of-cost LPG cylinders and stoves to people as an incentive to avoid cutting forests.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting in Muzaffarabad today (Tuesday) with Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi in the chair.
The project will be completed at a cost of 200 million rupees.
The meeting decided that 80 million rupees will be set aside for computerization of forest land. Similarly, Ecotourism at a cost of 100 million rupees and new development projects costing 600 million rupees will soon be started.
