Ambassador Calls for Promotion of Urdu Language


Washington: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, emphasized the national duty of promoting Urdu literature and raising awareness of the country’s cultural heritage. He made these remarks during an event in Virginia, U.S., dedicated to paying tribute to the poet Asadullah Khan Ghalib.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Ambassador encouraged the Pakistani community in the U.S. to utilize the embassy’s resources for events that focus on cultural heritage. He pointed out the role of technology in safeguarding and promoting the Urdu language and cultural heritage.



The Ambassador stressed the importance of global awareness regarding Pakistan’s cultural heritage as an essential part of public diplomacy. He assured that every effort would be made to achieve this goal. Recently, the Embassy organized an exhibition of Islamic calligraphy to promote Pakistani arts and literature.



In addition to his remarks, the Ambassador recognized and honored various individuals for their social and professional contributions.
