Annual Earth Hour Observed in Pakistan, Worldwide


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has urged people across the country to participate in the symbolic gesture of turning off lights at 8:30 tonight to celebrate Earth Hour.



According to Radio Pakistan, in a message on social media platform X today, he emphasized the importance of uniting to raise awareness, empower individuals and communities, and inspire action towards adopting sustainable practices.



People around the globe are set to celebrate Earth Hour at thirty past eight tonight, following their respective time zones. The celebration involves dedicating one hour to protect the Earth from the threats of climate change and environmental degradation, while simultaneously raising awareness about these pressing issues.



Earth Hour is celebrated annually by switching off lights, allowing the Earth’s environment and habitat to heal from the damage caused by unnecessary energy consumption.
