Beijing: President Asif Ali Zardari met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, in Beijing today to discuss bilateral relations. They emphasized the enduring and resilient friendship between the two nations, highlighting its growth over the years.
According to Radio Pakistan, the leaders stressed the importance of strategic mutual trust as a foundational element of the China-Pakistan relationship. They agreed on the need for continued high-level exchanges to further deepen practical cooperation between the two countries.
Discussions also focused on the high-quality development of CPEC 2.0, with specific attention to enhancing collaboration in science and technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, and agriculture. They described CPEC as an exemplar of people-centric development, emphasizing its role in fostering win-win cooperation, shared benefits, and common prosperity.
The meeting also explored opportunities to strengthen institutional linkages, including parliamentary exchanges and involvement in the CPEC Political Parties Joint Consultative Mechanism, aiming to reinforce bilateral cooperation.
