ISLAMABAD: Authorities across the country are intensifying efforts to combat smuggling, with significant seizures reported over the past week. Government departments have recovered 720 cigarette stocks, over 450 cloth rolls, and 0.329 million liters of Iranian oil, highlighting ongoing efforts to curb illicit trade.

According to Radio Pakistan, the crackdown, which has been ongoing since September 2023, has resulted in the recovery of 13,471.5 metric tons of fertilizer, 3,792.13 metric tons of flour, and 35,134.6 metric tons of sugar. Additionally, law enforcement agencies have confiscated 4,408,339 cigarette stocks, 158,452 cloth rolls, and 21.949 million liters of Iranian oil.
