ISLAMABAD: The fourth round of bilateral political consultations between Pakistan and Denmark was successfully held in Islamabad today. The Pakistani delegation was headed by Additional Foreign Secretary Europe Shafqat Ali Khan, while the Danish delegation was led by State Secretary for Foreign Policy Lisbet Zilmer-Johns.
According to Radio Pakistan, both sides conducted a comprehensive review of the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, which encompasses political relations, trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, infrastructure development, and people-to-people contacts. Discussions also covered important regional and global developments.
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the upward trajectory of their bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining momentum in their relations. They agreed to coordinate closely on all issues of mutual concern, including at multilateral forums.
In addition, they agreed to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relatio
ns between Pakistan and Denmark in a fitting manner this year. It was also decided to explore new avenues of cooperation in green technologies under the Green Framework Engagement Agreement, which was signed in September 2022.
The next round of Pakistan-Denmark Bilateral Political Consultations will take place in Denmark on mutually agreed dates.
