Government Successfully Averted Economic Default: Ahsan


Karachi: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced that the government has successfully averted an economic default, reduced inflation and deficit, and observed an upward trend in exports and remittances. He made these remarks during the inauguration of the High Performance Research Center at NED University of Engineering and Technology.



According to Radio Pakistan, the research center aims to enhance sports capabilities using modern technology. Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the center’s role in adopting advanced technology to monitor, assess, and improve athletes’ potential at a micro level. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, industry, and academia to guide the nation towards development amid a technological revolution.



Ahsan Iqbal outlined the objectives of the government’s ‘E-Pakistan’ initiative as part of the Prime Minister’s Uraan Pakistan program, which seeks to explore new avenues for sustainable economic growth and stability. He reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving these objectives and stressed the necessity of peace, political stability, policy continuity for at least a decade, and cohesive reforms.



The Minister also noted the revival of the spirit of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and mentioned that various development initiatives are currently being implemented.
