Govt Focuses on Vibrant Media Aligned with Modern Trends


Riyadh: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, emphasized the incumbent government’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and advanced media landscape aligned with modern trends. He made these remarks while addressing the Saudi Media Forum-2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.



According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar highlighted Pakistan’s valuable human resources and underscored the need for more international partnerships and global collaboration to nurture talent and achieve technological advancement. He stressed the importance of enhancing collaborations between international and local media partners to improve skill development and capacity building within Pakistan’s media sector.



The minister pointed out that support from global partners could lead to significant transformations in Pakistan’s local media organizations. He referenced a World Economic Forum report, identifying fake information as a major challenge of the current era. Tarar advocated for the establishment of an international organization or media outlet, with membership from all countries, to implement a fact-checking system.



He proposed that this system should leverage artificial intelligence and other technological means to verify the credibility of information. Tarar highlighted the rapid spread of fake information compared to awareness on social issues and called for a collective solution to this challenge.



Furthermore, the minister emphasized the need for fair and impartial use of social media and artificial intelligence, cautioning against any biased application of these technologies.
