Govt Prioritizes Export-Oriented Industries, Says Commerce Minister


ISLAMABAD: The government is committed to promoting export-oriented industries and projects, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan said during a meeting with a delegation from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries. The initiative, aimed at bolstering the country’s economic growth, underscores the administration’s focus on expanding its footprint in international markets.



According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Khan assured the delegation of the government’s proactive stance on supporting industries with export potential. He highlighted the administration’s ongoing efforts to facilitate businesses that contribute significantly to the nation’s export earnings. The minister also revealed that the proposal to establish a pharmaceutical council is under active consideration, indicating that its implementation will be prioritized to enhance the sector’s global competitiveness.



The discussions between the minister and the business delegation centered around strategies to strengthen export capacities and address challenges faced by export-oriented industries. This engagement reflects a broader governmental strategy to reinforce economic resilience by diversifying and expanding export portfolios.
