Islamabad: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced that the country’s economy has stabilized due to the government’s prudent measures. In a televised statement, he highlighted several key economic indicators that reflect this stabilization, including remittances reaching 8.8 billion dollars, an interest rate set at 15%, and foreign exchange reserves surpassing 11 billion dollars.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister emphasized that the inflation rate has significantly decreased to 4.8 percent, which he claims is proof of the overall improvement in the economy. He pointed out that despite previous economic challenges, the government’s strategic steps have led to positive outcomes, bolstering national financial health.
Minister Tarar also addressed the political situation, specifically criticizing the PTI’s protest tactics. He regretted what he described as the PTI’s reliance on a “fake narrative” and asserted that there is no video evidence showing law enforcement officers directly fi
ring upon protestors. He characterized the PTI’s protest as far from peaceful, noting that protestors were armed with modern weapons.
Additionally, Attaullah Tarar accused the PTI of engaging in “politics of corpses” to divert attention from what he described as their failed protest efforts. He argued that the party’s actions were an attempt to deflect from their inability to organize a successful protest, thereby undermining the credibility of their political movement.
