Investiture Ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr Honors Pakistani and Foreign Nationals


Islamabad: An investiture ceremony to confer civil awards upon Pakistani and foreign nationals for their contributions in different fields was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad today. President Asif Ali Zardari decorated the awards to the recipients.



According to Radio Pakistan, former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was posthumously awarded Nishan-e-Pakistan, with his daughter Sanam Bhutto receiving the award on his behalf. Other notable recipients included Sultan Alai Akbar Allana, Dr. Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah, Ali Haider Gilani, Khawaja Anwar Majeed, and Javed Jabbar.



The ceremony also recognized prominent individuals such as Saadia Rashid, Umar Farooq, Sana Hashwani, Safinaz Munir, Aneeqa Bano, Amin Muhammad Lakhani, Sarwar Munir Rao, Hassan Ayub, and Mir Nadir Khan Magsi for their efforts.



Among the foreign nationals honored were Hyder Qurbanov and Dr. Christine Brunhilde, who received the Sitara-e-Quaid-e-Azam. Agostino Da Polenza and Professor Valeria Picacentini were awarded the Tamgha-e-Pakistan, while Dr. Xinmin Liu received the Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam.



In total, sixty-seven civil awards were presented during the ceremony.
