Islamabad: Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed today to express the whole-hearted support of the Pakistani nation to the just struggle of Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination under the UN resolutions. It was a public holiday today.
According to Radio Pakistan, a rally was taken out from the Foreign Office to D-Chowk in Islamabad in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day. The participants raised slogans in support of the Kashmiri people and carried banners highlighting Indian actions against them. Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan addressed the rally and stated that Pakistan has always extended moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.
Minister for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik condemned Indian actions in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that Pakistan will continue to voice concerns over human rights violations in the region. Chairman Kashmir Committee Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon emphasized the need for resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
Deputy Convener APHC AJK Chapter Farooq Rehmani expressed gratitude towards Pakistani leadership and people for their unwavering support. Additionally, Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, organized a rally in Islamabad. During her address, she criticized the international community for not holding India accountable for its actions in Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri cause.
Posters and billboards were displayed in prominent locations to highlight the plight of the Kashmiri people. In Muzaffarabad, the AJK Legislative Assembly held a special session to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir. Human chains were formed at various points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
In Mirpur, a function was organized at Mangla Bridge to mark the day, with similar events taking place in the Kotli and Bhimber districts.
