Naqvi Directs to Upgrade National Police Academy on Lines of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced the government’s objective to elevate the National Police Academy (NPA) to international standards.

According to Radio Pakistan, Naqvi articulated this ambition while leading a high-level meeting focused on the academy’s restructuring, held at the National Police Academy in Islamabad. During the session, he was briefed about the comprehensive upgradation plan for the academy.

The proposed enhancements include the establishment of an Elite Force Training School and a Technical Training Center. Additionally, the plan outlines the creation of both indoor and outdoor firing ranges at the facility. A significant decision made during the meeting was to upgrade the National Police Academy in alignment with the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul.

Naqvi instructed the relevant authorities to expand the parade ground, emphasizing the importance of making it larger and more visually appealing. He also prioritized the construction of a residential block for officers undergoing training.

To ensure the efficient execution of the upgradation, Naqvi directed that the process should be carried out in phases. The meeting saw the participation of several key officials, including the Commandant of the National Police Academy, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, and other relevant officials.
