The two state-owned companies, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company are executing three strategic projects of gas supply to two Special Economic Zones and an industrial park in their respective areas to boost industrial production.
According to APP, these projects are being executed in Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab, for which over 431 million rupees have been allocated in the current Public Sector Development Programme.
According to details, the SSGC is laying a pipeline to supply 10 Metric Million Cubic Feet per Day Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas to Bostan Special Economic Zone in Balochistan at a cost of 100 million rupees.
The company is also laying a dedicated line to provide 13 MMCFD, RLNG to Bin Qasim Industrial Park, in Karachi at a cost of 74.71 million rupees.
Similarly, the SNGPL is carrying forward a project to supply 40 MMCFD gas/RLNG to Allama Iqbal Industrial City, a Special Economic Zone in Faisalabad. Government has earmarked 256.74 million rupees for this project.
