Pakistan accelerates efforts to make snow leopard symbol of global climate adaptation

The Ministry of Climate Change has accelerated efforts to designate snow leopard as an international symbol of climate adaptation at the United Nations General Assembly.

During a meeting in Islamabad, Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam outlined the steps of this initiative.

The plan includes sending formal communications to the UNGA, the countries where snow leopards thrive, and key wildlife conservation organizations.

Pakistan also intends to present a strong case at the upcoming COP 29 conference in Baku, Azerbaijan next month.
