Pakistan Delivers Earthquake Aid to Myanmar


Yangon: Pakistan’s first consignment of thirty-five tons for earthquake affectees was handed over to Myanmar authorities at Yangon International Airport. Ambassador of Pakistan to Myanmar, Imran Haider, along with diplomats from the Pakistan Embassy, officially transferred the relief materials to the Chief Minister of the Yangon Region and the Director General of Training at the Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Government of Pakistan and Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority are dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance to those affected by the earthquake in Myanmar. The aid aims to support the ongoing relief efforts in the aftermath of the disaster.



Meanwhile, Myanmar’s military has announced a temporary ceasefire to expedite relief and reconstruction efforts following last week’s devastating earthquake. The ruling junta’s State Administration Council stated that the ceasefire would remain in effect until the 22nd of this month.



The earthquake’s death toll has tragically surpassed two thousand eight hundred, highlighting the dire need for continued international support and aid to the affected regions.
