Pakistan Mission Hosts Farewell Ceremony in Honour of Munir Akram


New York: Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations hosted a farewell reception in honor of Ambassador Munir Akram. The event was attended by Permanent Representative-designate Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Consul General Aamir Ahmad Atozai, Deputy Permanent Representative Usman Jadoon, officers of the Mission, and their families.



According to Radio Pakistan, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad paid tribute to Ambassador Akram, acknowledging his decades of service to Pakistan. He stated that Ambassador Munir Akram’s legacy in public service would continue to inspire future generations of Pakistani diplomats.



Ambassador Munir Akram reflected on his diplomatic career, describing it as long and challenging, yet rewarding. He emphasized the importance of the Pakistan Foreign Service in protecting the country’s national interests in a complex global environment.
