Pakistan, Russia agree to enhance bilateral cooperation


Pakistan and Russia have agreed to further deepen and broaden bilateral ties by regularly holding meetings of institutional mechanisms and follow-up actions.

The understanding was reached during meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov today, on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan.

They discussed the growing understanding and cooperation between the two countries and recent regional and global developments.

They agreed to hold the ninth session of the Intergovernmental Commission in Moscow this year.

Ishaq Dar congratulated Russian Foreign Minister on the peaceful and successful election process in Russia and expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Russia relations.
