PM Lauds DP World’s Role in Enhancing Pakistan’s Trade


Dubai: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised DP World’s contribution to boosting Pakistan’s trade during a meeting with its Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted the successful recent visit of the DP World delegation to Pakistan, which led to strengthened investment collaboration between the two entities. He emphasized that such partnerships are crucial for enhancing trade relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.



Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged DP World’s pivotal role in developing Pakistan’s trade and logistics infrastructure and reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to swiftly implementing Intergovernmental Agreements with DP World. The Prime Minister also mentioned that Pakistan, through the Special Investment Facilitation Council, has streamlined investment procedures, creating a more favorable business environment for global investors.



Recognizing DP World’s vision and strategy, the Prime Minister noted Pakistan’s strategic location offers opportunities for DP World to expand its operations, inspired by the success of projects like the Jebel Ali Port. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s continuous support and reaffirmed DP World’s commitment to completing projects on time and exploring new cooperation avenues.



The DP World Chairman informed the Prime Minister about allocating a dedicated exhibition hall to promote Pakistani products in the UAE, aimed at increasing their market access and visibility. The Prime Minister welcomed this initiative by DP World.
