Tashkent: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid a solemn visit to the iconic Uzbek Independence Monument in Tashkent today. The Prime Minister laid a floral wreath at the monument, which symbolizes Uzbekistan’s history and sovereignty.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his admiration for Uzbekistan’s progress and resilience, drawing parallels with Pakistan’s own struggle for independence and development. He remarked that the Independence Monument stands as a testament to the courage and determination of the Uzbek people. He emphasized that Pakistan and Uzbekistan share a common vision for peace, prosperity, and regional connectivity, and this visit serves as a reminder of shared values and the need for cooperation toward a brighter future.
During the visit, the Prime Minister was also briefed about the 3000-year-old history of the Uzbek nation and its heroes. The trip to the monument will be followed by high-level meetings with Uzbek officials, focusing on enhancing trade, energy cooperation, and cultural exchanges.
