ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal announced that the results of the seventh agricultural census will be available by August, underscoring the importance of precise data in advancing agricultural policy and innovation. Addressing a gathering in Islamabad, Iqbal stressed that accurate data is essential for crafting effective policies to drive a modern agricultural revolution in the country.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal commended the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics for their efforts in conducting the agricultural census, following the successful completion of the digital population census. He also expressed gratitude to provincial authorities for their cooperation and manpower contributions to the census process.
The Minister emphasized that the country is on the cusp of a new developmental phase, coinciding with the start of the New Year. He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had recently inaugurated Uraan Pakistan, a comprehensive five-year national economic plan aimed at accelerating economic growth.
Iqbal highlighted the critical need to elevate the nation to unprecedented economic heights, aiming to eradicate backwardness, poverty, and unemployment through unified efforts. The agricultural census is seen as a foundational step in achieving these broader economic goals.
