Islamabad: The situation in Islamabad has returned to normal after law enforcement agencies successfully cleared D-Chowk and surrounding areas of PTI protesters. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the area stretching from D Chowk to Khyber Plaza, meeting with law enforcement personnel and commending their efforts.
According to Radio Pakistan, Interior Minister Naqvi expressed appreciation for the Rangers, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh Police, FC, and the Pakistan Army for their role in clearing the protestors. He reviewed the cleared areas and instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to commence cleaning operations on the affected roads. The minister also assessed the damage to buildings and infrastructure caused by the incidents and directed the removal of road blockages.
The Interior Minister stated that the attempt to create unrest was successfully thwarted, describing the development as a victory for the citizens of Pakistan. Meanwhile, security sources reported that no firearms were used durin
g the police and rangers’ operation in the federal capital last night.
According to sources, Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur fled the D-Chowk area together. Security sources have dismissed claims circulating on social media about protestors’ deaths, labeling them as false and fabricated propaganda intended to obscure failures and shortcomings.
