Thailand’s Constitutional Court today suspended Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha from official duties after it decided to hear a petition to review his legally mandated eight-year term limit.
The court gave the verdict on the petition of the main opposition party which pleaded that the Prime Minister should leave office this month because he has completed his tenure.
A government official said Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan is expected to take over as interim leader.
