RAHIM YAR KHAN: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed a strong interest in enhancing collaboration with Pakistan, particularly in the sectors of mining, minerals, and agriculture. This development emerged during a meeting between UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting took place in Rahim Yar Khan, where both leaders conveyed a mutual commitment to deepen their economic, political, and cultural ties. The discussions covered various topics, including economic cooperation, regional stability, climate change, and the promotion of mutual interests on the international stage.
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized strengthening the longstanding partnership with Pakistan, highlighting the significance of people-to-people connections and shared prosperity. He also expressed admiration for the stabilization and growth trajectory of Pakistan’s economy under Prime Minister Sharif’s leadership.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the UAE’s forward-thinking leadership and acknowledged its pivotal role as a key development and investment partner for Pakistan. He reiterated Pakistan’s eagerness to expand cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skill development.
The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude for the UAE’s consistent support during challenging times, particularly in humanitarian aid and development assistance. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to regional peace and progress, pledging to collaborate closely on issues of mutual interest.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to enhance cooperation in priority sectors, aiming for a prosperous future for both nations. Notably, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally drove the vehicle with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif seated beside him, during which they engaged in an informal and pleasant conversation. Prime Minister Sharif extended a warm welcome to the UAE President, referring to Pakistan as his second home.
