The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “BIPARJOY” over northeast Arabian Sea after landfall at the Indian Gujarat coast near Jakhau port has weakened into a Severe Cyclonic Storm now it lies at a distance of 200 km east-southeast of Keti Bandar, 180 km southeast of Thatta and 270 km east of Karachi.
According to National disaster Management Authority, maximum sustained surface winds are 80-100 Kilometers per hour with wave height 10-12 feet.
The system is likely to weaken further into a Cyclonic Storm by this noon and subsequently into a Depression by today evening.
The NDMA is continuously monitoring the system and will issue update accordingly. The Authority has issued the fresh advisory under which widespread rain-thunderstorm with some heavy or very heavy falls accompanied with squally winds of 80-100 Kilometers per hour likely in Sujawal, Badin, Tharparkar and Umerkot districts, while heavy falls in Thatta and Mirpur Khas districts today and tomorrow.
Dust with thunderstorm-rain with few moderate falls accompanied with gusty winds of 30-50 Km/hour likely in Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allayar, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sanghar districts today.
Sea conditions along Sindh-Makran coast likely to be rough and very rough with 2 meter tide. Fishermen have also been advised not to venture in open sea till the system is over by tomorrow.
